Pillers of Islam

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
bismi-llāhi r-raḥmāni r-raḥīm
In the name of God; The Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

All Muslims know that Islam has five pillars, and if one of the pillars is missing or broken your deen (religion) is not complete. And all Muslims also know what these five pillars are.

1) Shahadah; declaration of faith
لا اله الا الله محمد رسول الله
"lā ilaha illela Allahu, Muhammad ur-rasul Ullah"
"There is no god but Allah, Muhammad [peace be upon him] is the messenger of Allah."

2) Salah; Muslims are required to pray five times a day
“Guard strictly the Salah, especially the middle Salah. And stand before Allah with obedience.” [2:238]

3) Zakah; giving a fixed proportion to charity
"My mercy encompasses all things, but I will specify it for the righteous who give Zakat" [7:156]

4) Sawm; fasting during the month of Ramadan
"Fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may attain taqwaa"[2:183]

5) Hajj; pilgrimage to Mecca
"And proclaim to the people the Hajj [pilgrimage]; they will come to you on foot and on every lean camel; they will come from every distant pass" [22:27]

These five things are very important, basically the first one, Shahadah is what categorize us as Muslims, the second one Salah is also compulsory but I have seen many Muslims skipping this part. Then the third,Zakat it is compulsory for only those who fall in the range of giving it. Sawm (fast), there is no skipping this either (but special cases apply). And then there is Hajj, if you can afford it then its compulsorily for you to perform it once in a life time.

I am pretty sure that everyone knows about these 5 major components of Islam but some of us fail to do them, mostly Salah and Sawm (fast)...Think about it , if you are the one missing any of these, then you are missing not only major  but also basic components of Islam. So turn to ALLAH before death finds you.
May ALLAH help us all walk the true path and may HE give us strength to stay on the right path as well...AMEEN

Note: May ALLAH forgive me if I said something wrong and unjust...AMEEN.
if you find any error please forgive me and correct me with an authentic proof. JAZAKALLAH
